Horseshoe Beach (2013)

'Horseshoe Beach' was one of my largest projects – a total of 12 shorebirds, 9 Red Knots and 3 Ruddy Turnstones. The Red Knot is a magnificent little bird that is endangered due to the over fishing of the Horseshoe Crab. The Red Knot flies from Argentina where it winters to Delaware Bay where it feeds on Horseshoe Crab eggs and once replenished with nourishment flies to the Canadian Arctic where it raises its young. Without the Horseshoe Crab it would not survive the trip to the Arctic.
