Fortunato Wins Accolades

Nancy was 1 of 90 artists chosen from a field of over 1000 watercolorists from the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies to be selected for the 24th Annual Exhibition. Over 5,000 artists are included in the ten watercolor societies. The show is to be held in San Diego at the Showcase Gallery from May 2 through May 31, 1999. The Juror is Timothy J. Clark, noted emmy award winner of the PBS-TV Series, Focus on Watercolor.

Nancy's watercolor painting, Last Race-Arlington was given an AWARD OF EXCELLENCE in the Texas Watercolor Society's 50th Anniversary National Exhibition of Watercolors being held at the San Antonio Museum of Art, San Antonio, Tx. The exhibition open on March 6th and was juried by Frank Webb, AWS. NA.

Nancy was elected to Who's Who in International Art, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in America and again in Who's Who in American Art (since 1985).

Nancy has been nominated for the prestigious 1999 Medal of Art, presented by the President of US. She has been serving as President of the Midwest Watercolor Society for a two-year term ending in July of 1999 and has helped to preserve transparent watercolor in serving as President of MWS. MWS is one of only two national watercolor societies devoted to transparent watercolor.
