AFC 2019 Calendar Revealed

AFC 2019 Calendar Revealed

Vancouver, BC CANADA - June 25, 2018 - Artists for Conservation is pleased to announce that Signature AFC Member, James Hough's painting "Times Like This" depicting a Laughing Kookaburra, has been selected for the cover of the 2019 AFC Environmental Calendar. For the first time, the calendar has been themed on a specific subject - birds. The theme corresponds to a unique collaboration between AFC and the world's most important bird studies event - the 27th International Ornithological Congress - held every four years since 1884. In addition to highlighting statutory and religious holidays, the calendar also uniquely highlights a wide range of international environmental-themed days and weeks. The annual calendar is published on sustainably forested paper, as a companion to the 11th annual AFC Exhibit, showing in Vancouver, BC running August 22-25.

Several of the original artworks in the calendar will be on display and available for purchase with 40% of the proceeds supporting AFC and conservation organizations around the world.

The calendar also features images of twelve artwork selected from the 2018 AFC Exhibit and virtual show. Many of which will be on display in the exhibit at the 2018 AFC Festival.

Other artists in the calendar include:

  • Guy Combes (Kenya)
  • Jason Kamin (Canada)
  • Valentin Katranzhiev (Bulgaria)
  • Calvin Nicholls (Canada)
  • Varda Breger (Israel)
  • Sandra Temple (Australia)
  • Cher Anderson (USA)
  • Stephen Jesic (Australia)
  • Peggy Sowden (Canada)
  • J. Sharkey Thomas (Canada)
  • Kathleen Dunn (USA)

The AFC 2019 Environmental Calendar is perfect for keeping track of all international public and important environmental-themed dates. Each month is represented by a select work from this year's Art of Conservation Exhibit. Proceeds from the 2018 AFC Calendar supports Artists for Conservation's Youth Education programming.

The Calendar can be ordered online or purchased at the Artists for Conservation Festival.
