2018/02/25 Sharon Schafer's 'Two Deserts, One Sky' Environmental Education Project AFC artist Sharon K. Schafer has returned to India to connect cultures and continents - an introduction of Rajasthan students to their Nevada, U.S counterparts. Her 2018 project is 'Two Deserts, One Sky' - art-based global environmental education project.
The 2018 project is an outgrowth from the original 2017 AFC Flag Expedition #15. This project is committed to arid land environmental education and dedicated to fostering an understanding between cultures of our shared responsibilities to our fragile planet.

2018/02/02 AFC artists selected for Ducks Unlimited Canada - 2018 National Art Portfolio Congratulations to AFC Canadian artists Jodie Dansereau, Kevin Johnson, Joseph Koensgen, Terry Isaac, Ron Plaizier and Valerie Rogers. Artist Joseph Koensgen was awarded the 2018 Artist of the Year.
Only 11 artworks were selected by Ducks Unlimited Canada as part of the 2018 National Art Portfolio (Art for Wetlands 2018 edition) from hundreds of submissions from artists across Canada. We are proud tthat six of the 11 are AFC artists. |

2017/10/09 Bruce Lawes Gets Help from Jane Goodall in Painting to Support Institute AFC artist Bruce Lawes, recently completed a major arwork depicting a chimpanzee, created specifically to support the Jane Goodall Institute. 2017/10/01 Kathleen Sheard Sculpts for Sea Turtles Wildlife Glass Artist, Kathleen Sheard, has undertaken the Cycle of Life: Sea Turtle Glass Sculpture – Environmental Art Education Project to raise awareness of and educate people to the dangers to sea turtles. The project includes an installation of over 60 kiln-formed glass pieces depicting life-size sea turtles and hatchlings along with elements that endanger them. The Cycle of Life is a collaboration between Kathleen Sheard and other glass and wood artists from across the US. |

2017/09/20 Artists and Conservationists Mourn Passing of David Shepherd With deep sadness we share with you the passing of fellow artist and conservationist, David Shepherd. An international champion of the conservation movement, and a legendary wildlife artist, David leaves a legacy of support for African wildlife. He also inspired hundreds of professional artists around the world to also take up the cause, through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and the annual DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year Award. A Signature Member of AFC since 2004, David was also the first recipient of AFC's highest honour - the Simon Combes Conservation Award in 2006. |
