AFC 2018 Calendar Revealed

Vancouver, BC CANADA - Aug 15, 2017 - Artists for Conservation is pleased to announce that Signature AFC Member, Caroline Brooks painting "Targeted Approach" depicting a Snow Leopard, has been selected for the cover of the 2018 AFC Environmental Calendar. In addition to highlighting statutory and religious holidays, the calendar also uniquely highlights a wide range of international environmental-themed days and weeks. The annual calendar is published on sustainably forested paper, as a companion to the 8th annual AFC Exhibit, showing in North Vancouver, BC running November 9 to 13.

For this year's Festival, the AFC team once again had the pleasure to work with Canadian violist and composer, Thomas Beckman, following a beautiful live performance at the 2015 gala. This time AFC's Jeff Whiting worked with Beckman to choreograph a slideshow of all 201 original artworks juried into AFC's 2016 exhibit, which Beckman used to compose and record a unique 16 minute piece in high-definition sound. On September 29, 2016, guests at the AFC Festival opening evening at Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, Beckman performed an abbreviated version of the special commissioned peice.

New 2015 AFC Festival Venue & Expo

In 2015, AFC will be adding a new opening venue to the its Festival program - at one of Vancouver's premiere hotels located steps from the iconic conference center and Canada Place world trade center, the business district and cruise ship terminal.

2013 AFC Festival Photo Blog

This past fall, AFC launched the 3rd annual Artists for Conservation Festival, celebrating nature's beauty and diversity with a spectacular art exhibit and a host of inspiring art and environmental education programs. The event welcomed public of all ages with a variety of interests - fine art, environment and conservation. It also brought together over forty AFC artists, a small army of dedicated volunteers, and supporters including RE/MAX, Deeley Harley Davidson Canada, our gracious host, Grouse Mountain and many other supporters and patrons.

AFC Record-Breaking Tour & 2011 Festival Recap

On January 14, 2012, AFC's annual exhibit travelled to Tucson, Arizona to open at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Art Museum. The opening day broke all-time attendance records for an art exhibit opening at the museum. Susan Fisher, Director of the ASDM Art Institute commented: "Wow! What a turnout we had. There was a record number of attendees topping all previous records for Gallery receptions here at the museum. Visitors were very impressed with the quality of the show and really seemed to enjoy looking at the works...
